Conferences and
Annual Meetings:
Conference - 'Agents in the Landscape', in Esbjerg,
Denmark, 1-2 March 1999
The Research Centre Changing Landscapes is
holding a conference with the theme 'Agents in the
Landscape' in Esbjerg, Denmark, 1-2 March 1999. Researchers
from universities and museums are particularly invited,as
are administrators from the public administration along with
other interested people.
The purpose of the conference is to contribute to an
administration of the landscape which encompasses entire
landscapes by presenting the first research results from the
research project Changing Landscapes
supplemented by guest lecturers.
People have intervened with and used the Danish nature
for thousands of years. The interaction between people and
nature has created and continues to shape the Cultural
Landscape. The conference will demonstrate the diversity of
motives behind historical and present interventions in
nature and thereby contribute to a discussion of the use and
preservation of the cultural landscape. The conference will
start a discussion of the notion Cultural Sustainable Land
Use.
(Most of the papers will be given in Danish)
